Aussie Hoops Coaches

 

The Macedon Ranges Basketball Association (MRBA) is a community-driven organisation dedicated to fostering a love for basketball and providing opportunities for youth development in the sport.

We are seeking motivated, enthusiastic, and committed Aussie Hoops basketball coaches to join our team and inspire the next generation of players. While we welcome and encourage the development of junior coaches, we are currently looking for more senior coaches who are able to take responsibility for the sessions, including the opening and closing of facility.

 

As an Aussie Hoops Basketball Coach, you will play a pivotal role in helping young players develop their basketball skills and grow a love for the game. 

 

Responsibilities will include

• Develop and implement engaging training sessions

• Building positive, supportive relationships with participants

• Effectively communicating with players and parents

• Teaching the fundamentals of basketball

• Lead and collaborate with fellow coaches, providing guidance, support, and ongoing development.

• Ensure all training sessions run smoothly and efficiently, from setting up equipment to managing participant engagement and attendance.

• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all participants.

 

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in basketball coaching or coordination, preferably with junior athletes.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Understanding of basketball skills and drills suitable for beginner-level players.

• Enthusiasm, patience, and a passion for helping young players enjoy the sport.

• Ability to work effectively with other coaches

• Working with Children Check (mandatory)​​

Sessions are held across two venues (Buffalo Stadium - Woodend, and Macedon Ranges Sports Precinct - New Gisborne) on multiple days therefore coaches need to be available on either a Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, or a combination of those.

Competitive hourly rates based on coaching experience and qualifications.
